Plot Summary:
Years after the events of the first film, John Constantine has managed to keep Hell at bay and remain out of Lucifer's reach — barely. Still smoking, still cynical, and still seeing things others can’t, Constantine is now dealing with a new balance of power: Heaven has grown quiet, and Hell has grown bold.
A string of brutal, ritualistic murders across the globe starts drawing attention from both celestial and infernal entities. Constantine is approached by Angela Dodson, now a hardened detective deeply involved in occult investigations. She believes something ancient has returned — older than demons, older than angels.
They discover that Lucifer’s throne in Hell is being challenged by a rogue archangel: Lucifer’s twin brother, Samael, the Morningstar before Lucifer fell. Samael, once bound and forgotten by both realms, seeks to tear the veil between Earth and the spiritual plane, creating a hybrid dominion where Heaven and Hell bleed into reality.
Haunted by visions of a scorched Earth, Constantine is forced to seek aid from allies and enemies alike — including Gabriel, now stripped of grace but with secrets only a former archangel can hold. Midnite returns, running a new neutral ground in Istanbul, where the dead walk as guides for the living.
As Samael's cult gains power, Constantine confronts the possibility that the only way to stop the apocalypse may be to embrace what he has always avoided: his own damnation. In the end, he must make the ultimate sacrifice, facing Samael in a climactic battle between redemption and ruin — not for his soul, but for humanity's.
The film ends with Constantine surviving, scarred and changed. But in the final scene, a figure watches him from a rooftop: a young girl with glowing eyes — the next vessel, or the next threat?
