Story Summary:
Set in the harsh deserts of 1880s New Mexico, the film opens with Charlotte and her family attempting to live peacefully on the frontier. That peace is shattered when a brutal gang of outlaws, led by the vicious Billy, attacks their homestead. In a horrifying scene, Charlotte is raped in front of her husband, who is then murdered, and her younger sister Mary is abducted by the gang.
Desperate for justice and the safe return of her sister, Charlotte turns to the local sheriff—only to find him indifferent and powerless, having even lost his own horse to the same gang. Realizing that no one is coming to save her, Charlotte takes matters into her own hands.
Armed with nothing but a six-shooter and steely resolve, Charlotte rides into the desert alone. Along the way, she encounters a mysterious Navajo man, a former member of the outlaw gang who is seeking his own redemption. Though wary of each other, they form a reluctant alliance.
